Recruiter promioses e-3 but only if a 'friend' joins?

I could understand where you comming from, im a Sergeant in the Marine corps, im only 22 but ive been in the Marine corps since i was 17. and i get guys at 27 that come in as Private First Cl. the best advise i can give you is join as is, then as soon as you graduate basic and get to your unit, try to get commissioned as a 2nd LT.
