I have been copying pics off the net as I make iron on transfers for children, I have been getting pics such?

as Cookie Monster, Elmo, Bart Simpson, Andy Pandy, Hot Wheels...... I am a bit unsure if this is ok to do or if I could get into serious trouble for using the pics off the net?
